Atlanta Birth Center just took one step closer in its quest to become a reality. We wholeheartedly would like to congratulate Brad Bootstaylor, MD for being selected by Atlanta Magazine (July 2011), as one of the “Top Doctors” for 2011. Of 3,000 nominees, only 318 doctors were chosen; only four of which were Maternity and Fetal Medicine specialists.
This is a very public acknowledgement of Dr. Bootstaylor, who is very supportive of Midwifery care in general, and Atlanta Birth Center in particular. Dr. Boostaylor along with Midwives Margaret Strickhouser and Anjli Aurora Hinman; are the principal leaders in the creation of Atlanta Birth Center. It was Dr. Bootstaylor who coined the phrase, and inspires all of us, to continue the campaign to “Bring Birth Back!”.
Dr. Bootstaylor’s response upon hearing the news: “That’s a huge surprise considering all the issues we were up against; Right is Right! We must be doing something RIGHT, and I would not have gotten this very public acknowledgement without your support. THANK YOU!!!”
